Εί τις ευσεβής και φιλόθεος,

απολαβέτω της καλής ταύτης και λαμπράς πανηγύρεως.

Εί τις δούλος ευγνώμων,

εισελθέτω χαίρων εις την χαράν του Κυρίου αυτού.

Εί τις έκαμε νηστεύων,

απολαβέτω νυν το δηνάριον.

 
Εί τις από της πρώτης ώρας ειργάσατο,

δεχέσθω σήμερον το δίκαιον όφλημα.

Εί τις μετά την τρίτην ήλθε,

ευχαρίστως εορτασάτω.

Εί τις μετά την έκτην έφθασεν,

μηδέν αμφιβαλέτω· και γαρ ουδέν ζημιούται.

Εί τις υστέρησεν εις την ενάτην,

προσελθέτω μηδέν ενδοιάζων.

Εί τις εις μόνην έφθασε την ενδεκάτην,

μην φοβηθεί την βραδύτητα·

φιλότιμος γαρ ών ο Δεσπότης,

δέχεται τον έσχατον καθάπερ και τον πρώτον·

αναπαύει τον της ενδεκάτης,

ως τον εργασάμενον από της πρώτης·

 
και τον ύστερον ελεεί και τον πρώτον θεραπεύει·
κακείνω δίδωσι και τούτω χαρίζεται·

και τήν πράξιν τιμά και την πρόθεσιν επαινεί.

 
Ουκούν εισελθήτε πάντες εις την χαράν του Κυρίου υμών·
και πρώτοι και δεύτεροι τον μισθόν απολάβετε.

 
Πλούσιοι και πένητες, μετ' αλλήλων χορεύσατε·

εγκρατείς και ράθυμοι την ημέραν τιμήσατε·

νηστεύσαντες και μη νηστεύσαντες

ευφρανθήτε σήμερον.

Η τράπεζα γέμει, τρυφήσατε πάντες.
Ο μόσχος πολύς, μηδείς εξέλθει πεινών.

 
Πάντες απολαύσατε του συμποσίου της πίστεως·
πάντες απολαύσατε του πλούτου της χρηστότητος.

 
Μηδείς θρηνείτω πενίαν·

εφάνη γαρ η κοινή Βασιλεία.
 
Μηδείς οδυρέσθω πταίσματα·

συγγνώμη γαρ εκ του τάφου ανέτειλε.

Μηδείς φοβείσθω θάνατον·

ηλευθέρωσε γαρ ημάς ο του Σωτήρος θάνατος.
'Εσβεσεν αυτόν, υπ' αυτού κατεχόμενος.

 Εσκύλευσε τον Αδην,

ο κατελθών εις τον Αδην.

Επίκρανεν αυτόν,

γευσάμενος της σαρκός αυτού.

 
Και τούτο προλαβών Ησαϊας εβόησεν:

Ο 'Αδης φησίν, επικράνθη,

συναντήσας σοι κάτω.

Επικράνθη· και γαρ κατηργήθη.

Επικράνθη· και γαρ ενεπαίχθη.

Επικράνθη· και γαρ καθηρέθη.

Επικράνθη· και γαρ εδευσμεύθη.

'Ελαβε σώμα και Θεώ περιέτυχεν.

'Ελαβε γην και συνήντησε Ουρανώ.

 
'Ελαβεν όπερ έβλεπε

 και πέπτωκεν όθεν ουκ έβλεπε.

 
Πού σου, θάνατε, το κέντρον;

Πού σου, Αδη, το νίκος;

Ανέστη Χριστος, και συ καταβέβλησαι.

Ανέστη Χριστός και πεπτώκασι δαίμονες.

Ανέστη Χριστός, και χαίρουσιν άγγελοι.

Ανέστη Χριστός, και ζωή πολιτεύεται.

Ανέστη Χριστός, και νεκρός ουδείς εν τω μνήματι.

 
Χριστός γαρ εγερθείς εκ νεκρών,

απαρχή των κεκοιμημένων εγένετο.

Αυτώ η δόξα και το κράτος

εις τους αιώνας των αιώνων.

Αμήν.

 

If someone is devout and a lover of God,

let him enjoy this beautiful and radiant festival.

If someone is a grateful servant,

let him, rejoicing, enter into the joy of his Lord.

If someone has wearied himself in fasting,

let him now enjoy the reward.

If someone has laboured from the first hour,

May he today receive the just recompense.

If someone has come after the third hour,

let him celebrate thankfully.

If someone has arrived after the sixth hour,

let him doubt nothing; for he will suffer no loss.

If someone has delayed until the ninth hour,

let him come here, hesitating at nothing.

If someone has only arrived at the eleventh hour,

let them not be afraid of tardiness.

For the Master is gracious;

He accepts the last, as He does the first;

He gives respite to the one of the eleventh hour,

just as to the one who worked from the first hour.

He is charitable to the last, and tends to the first;

He gives to the one, and also gracious to the other.

He both honors the work and praises the intention.

Enter, therefore, all of you into the joy of our Lord;

Both the first and the second, receive your wages.

Rich and poor, rejoice ye together!

Temperate and indolent, honour the day!

All who have fasted and all who have not fasted,  rejoice today!

The table is rich-laden; feast royally, all of you!

The calf is plenty; let no one leave hungry!

Partake ye all, of the symposium of faith;

Enjoy ye all, of the bounty of virtue.

Let no one lament because of poverty,

for the common Kingdom has been revealed.

Let no one mourn transgressions,

for pardon has dawned from the grave.

Let no one fear death;

for the Saviour's death has set us free.

He extinguished it, having been conquered by Him.

He plundered Hades,

Who had descended into Hades.

He embittered it,

After it tasted His flesh.

And anticipating this, Isaiah had exclaimed:

Hades, I say, was embittered,

when it encountered Thee below.

It was embittered, for it was abolished!

It was embittered, for it was mocked!

It was embittered, for it was demoted!

It was embittered, for it was constrained!

It received a body, and came upon God!

It received earth, and encountered Heaven!

It received what it beheld

And it fell from where it wasn’t looking!

Where, o Death, is thy sting?

Where, o Hades, is thy victory?

Christ is risen, and you are foiled!

Christ is risen, and demons have fallen!

Christ is risen, and angels rejoice!

Christ is risen, and life reigns!

Christ is risen, and no deceased is in the tomb!

For Christ, having risen from the dead,

has become the first-fruits of the reposed.

His is the glory and the domain,

unto the ages of ages.
