This is a tale that speaks to children in an original manner
that is simultaneously clever and quite clear about topics
that are often difficult to explain. They range from one’s
personal responsibilities with regard to sexual behaviour
and childbirth, through to the problem of theodicy.
All the underlying important points are served with a
refreshing, exciting and friendly approach; the narration is
action-filled and pleasantly entertaining, with the use of
symbolisms, adventures and the unexpected – elements that
easily enchant children – as does everyone’s familiar hero:
the stork that brings babies!
It
can also prove to be
an invaluable aid for the parent, the teacher, the catechist
– in general, those seeking to touch the hearts and motivate
the minds of children over 8 years of age. It can however
be read just as easily and pleasantly by adults, inasmuch as
it also has a literary worth and conveys its messages
without any intrinsic empathy or the desire to be
reminiscent of a sermon.
